About The Ouut
The Ouut is a media intelligence platform covering the global founder economy. We report on the people building companies, the capital backing them, and the conditions shaping where and how new businesses grow.
We cover three markets: Africa and the Middle East, North America, and Europe. Most business media treats these as separate worlds, covered by separate outlets for separate audiences. We don’t. Founders in Lagos, Toronto, Cairo, Austin, and Berlin increasingly raise from the same funds, hire from the same talent pools, and compete for the same customers. Understanding any one market now means understanding how it connects to the others.
What we do

We hold our reporting to an institutional standard. That means verifying claims rather than repeating press releases, separating reporting from opinion, and telling readers what we know, what we don’t, and why it matters. Our writers are trained in startup ecosystems specifically, so the coverage comes from people who understand how companies are built and financed.
We are independent. Our editorial decisions are made by our editors, not by advertisers, sponsors, or the companies we cover.
Who’s behind it
Ayot Media Corp. publishes The Ouut. Olu Agboola founded it and serves as editor-in-chief. Olu brings a background that spans law, telecommunications engineering, and cloud infrastructure. He trained as a lawyer in Nigeria, where he was called to the bar, and earned a JD and LLM in the United States. He has worked as a 5G field engineer and in cloud and AWS infrastructure, and he runs his own logistics company. That mix of legal, technical, and operating experience shapes how The Ouut covers business: with attention to the rules, the technology, and the realities of actually running a company.
