Afriguild Receives Massive Boost as Adaverse Invests in its Web3 Mission

Afriguild, a Blockchain gaming guild turned DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) that offers opportunities for Africans through gaming, education, and community building, recently announced its investment from Adaverse, a Cardano ecosystem accelerator created to support the growth of Web3 crypto-native businesses in Africa.

Afriguild began as a social gaming business with the goal of enabling Africans to access and profit from high-quality Web3 games. In its initial few months, Afriguild developed a highly functional platform that enables Africans to take part in Blockchain P2E games and other income-generating opportunities in the expanding Metaverse.

The number of individuals who join the Web3 ecosystem directly affects Web3’s long-term relevance and influence. For this reason, Africa is presently establishing the foundation for the subsequent 100 million Africans.

Since its launch in late 2021, Afriguild has amassed over 3,000 users on its Discord social messaging platform. The organization is actively working toward its goal through gaming, the implementation of Web3 learning modules, and the creation of IRL Blockchain communities on tertiary campuses throughout Africa.

In order to accelerate Afriguild’s goal of onboarding 100 million Africans into Web3 over the next five years, Adaverse and EMURGO Africa have joined other illustrious investors in this investment round.

EMURGO Launches New $100 Million Cardano Ecosystem Investment Vehicle for African Startups

As a joint venture between EMURGO Africa and Everest Ventures, Adaverse was established in September 2021 with the goal of finding promising African startups developing the upcoming generation of Web3 dApps in DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and Metaverse tools on Cardano’s third-generation and environmentally-sustainable Blockchain. EMURGO had at the time secured $100m Cardano investment to fund early-stage and growth-stage startups in Africa focusing on creating socially meaningful solutions using Cardano.

Why Afriguild?

Global estimates for the GameFi market in 2026 predict that it would be worth an amazing $314 billion, with Africa accounting for a sizable share of that income because to the continent’s sizable youth population and its abundance of mobile users, who are expected to number over 747 million. The bulk of Web3 games with high yield assets are not well-liked in Africa despite GameFi’s rapid global expansion because of the region’s high entry costs and challenging gaming environment.

By gathering the most popular games and streamlining them for African children to play and earn while boosting confidence within a vibrant and dynamic gaming community, Afriguild tackles this problem.

Co-founder of Afriguild, Toyosi Abolarin noted that Afriguild’s strength lies within its community, and this has been the driving force behind all it does. Cardano, which has one of the busiest communities in the Blockchain sector, will be essential to achieving its objective of putting Africa on the map. The groundbreaking Cardano protocol offers a solid platform for Afriguild to create an ecosystem of useful and trustworthy products.

Afriguild aims to develop into more than just a gaming guild; it wants to be the “LinkedIn” of the Metaverse, a Web3 hub that links Africans to numerous P2E earning opportunities on the Metaverse and a market where game developers can directly connect to recruit Scholars, Gamers, Testers, and other contributors. Using $AFRI tokens produced on the Cardano blockchain, Afriguild will complete its transformation into a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) in the near future.
