AkiraChix Expands Into Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Eswatini to Empower Women in Tech Across Southern Africa
AkiraChix’s expansion into Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Eswatini marks a major milestone in its mission to empower women in technology.

Kenya’s AkiraChix is expanding into Southern Africa with its operations into Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Eswatini. This launch is part of its regional growth strategy in order to increase its access to digital skills and career opportunities for young women while focusing on Africa’s growing demand for tech talent.

AkiraChix targets regional partners to work within the three nations in a move of providing young women with career development options, technical training, and mentorship. The program's main goal is to give students practical skills like data analysis, software development, and digital literacy.

There are hundreds of women that have been recorded to have trained with this platform while a couple of them have created their own businesses or landed employment in the tech sector. This expansion correlates with an increase in the need for digital skills throughout Africa which helps to support the continent's startup environment and growing business usage of technology.

These programs will not only provide technical training but also equip women with entrepreneurship support, enabling women to launch startups or freelance careers.

AkiraChix hopes to establish a more varied and inclusive talent pipeline by entering Southern African markets, giving young women from poor neighborhoods access to opportunities in the digital economy. In addition to guaranteeing the long-term sustainability of its initiatives, the organization also plans to strengthen its partnerships with governments, non-governmental organizations, and businesses.
