Americana to Expand to Egypt, Invest $26M in New Food Production Lines
Americana Group, one of the largest food companies and restaurant chain operators in the Middle East, has expressed interest in investing $26 million in Egypt by launching new product lines, according to a cabinet statement.
Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Executive Director of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), met with Ihab Haggag, Senior Vice President of Americana Foods Egypt, on Monday to discuss the company’s Egyptian market expansion plans.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the best investment systems for implementing projects that will benefit the Egyptian economy the most, as well as the best possible alternatives for the company at all operational levels. The group intends to export its products overseas, particularly to Gulf countries.
Abdel Wahab revealed that Americana Foods intends to invest $26 million in new production lines to expand its presence in Egypt’s food industries sector and target new foreign markets for exporting its products.
He also discussed with the group representing the most important investment opportunities and available investment systems that are compatible with the various private sector orientations. He emphasized that the company receives assistance in all aspects of implementing its expansion plans and developing its existing investments in Egypt in the field of food production.
The group’s goal with this step is to increase its presence in Egypt’s food industries sector while also targeting new markets to export its products.
