Astrosoft, a leading ICT firm based in Bayelsa state has partnered with the Bayelsa Tech Hub (powered by Bank of Industry) and Google Developers Group (GDG) Yenagoa to host the biggest tech gathering in South-South Nigeria tagged Game and Tech Fest 2022.

The Game and Tech Fest 2022 which is a fusion of the Bayelsa Game and Tech Meetup and DevFest-2022 will take place on the 12th of November 2022 at the Bayelsa Tech Hub Car Park, Transparency Building, Yenagoa, with an expected attendance of over 1500 guests from across Nigeria.

It will feature expert-led sessions, startup demo sessions, hackathons, business and tech talks, Video Gaming Competitions, Music and Prize Giveaways. The event will also offer insights on Mobile, Design, Web, Cloud, DevOps, Machine Learning amongst others.

Supported by the Artsassin, Broaddrive Solutions and other partners, the program aims to introduce young people across the South-South Region to the vast opportunities in technology in a fun and interactive manner. The Game and Tech Meetup have had over 3 successful editions with a cumulative attendance of over 500 people from within and outside Bayelsa. While GDG Yenagoa Devfest is an annual developer festival comprising sessions, workshops, training, and code labs.

Highlighting the features and expected outcome of the Game and Tech Fest 2022, the Hub Manager of the Bayelsa Tech Hub; Asieri Odusi stated “This year’s event would further broaden the mission of the Hub, to introduce more young people to the vast opportunity in Technology, and it is in fact happening just as the Hub marks her 3rd Anniversary.”

Bruce Lucas, GDG Yenagoa Lead said “This year we are putting our forces together to host a bigger and more interesting tech event and I am sure the impact will be greater than all the previous editions. At the end of the day, we would have introduced more people into tech, and help them gain meaningful jobs in tech. I am very excited for what this event holds.”

The Game and Tech Fest 2022 is a platform for young people to learn practical in-demand digital skills and access tech scholarships. For startups, it offers an opportunity to showcase their products, while for Small Business owners, they can learn about how technology can help them make better business decisions in order to grow.

As part of the activities, the event will include 4 gaming tournaments and an arena game, where attendees will compete to win Prizes and/or Scholarship courtesy of Sponsors. The event will also have booths for Vendors (Food and Gadgets), an information desk for partners, and a relaxation spot for invited Private and Government Dignitaries.
