Chapa Digital Payment Launches In Ethiopia

Chapa, an Ethiopian financial technology startup has launched, releasing its online platform developed as a payment gateway that gives businesses access to accept international payments from customers.

The launched platform gives both businesses and organizations access to receive both international and local payments through any available payment method from anyone in any part of the world. Chapa has an API that can be incorporated into any available digital platform.

While discussing what Chapa intends to achieve as an organization within its community, Nael Hailemariamm, Chapa’s CEO and Co-founder said, “Chapa’s mission is to empower Ethiopian entrepreneurs and businesses to thrive in the global economy. This launch formally establishes our entry into Ethiopia’s financial sector, and we look forward to expanding our fingerprint on the development of the digital ecosystem across East Africa in phase two, and the rest of Africa in phase three.”
