Commercial International Bank (CIB) has committed up to EGP 2 billion ($42.5 million) to MNT-Halan as part of the fintech’s planned international share sale.
Under the agreement, CIB will purchase shares allocated to the international tranche of the transaction, subject to its terms and conditions.
MNT-Halan provides financial services including lending and payments through its Halan platform and distribution network. The fintech serves millions of customers and operates across multiple financial services segments.
The transaction comes as MNT-Halan advances plans to access public markets through a share sale that includes international investors.
CIB’s commitment makes the bank a significant institutional participant in the transaction and deepens its relationship with MNT-Halan.
The fintech has previously expanded its operations, with its business spanning digital financial services and consumer and business lending.
The investment also shows continued institutional backing for Egypt’s technology-enabled non-bank financial services sector as local fintech companies tap capital markets for growth.
