Edo State, Nigeria Set Up Innovation Hub

In a bid to enhance Nigeria’s and most especially Edo’s state ecosystem, the Edo state government has established a digital innovation hub that is focused on agriculture. This hub will facilitate digital conversion and development in the state’s agricultural innovation ecosystem.

The state’s Skills Development Agency and Songhai labs have been assigned to coordinate the function of the Edo Agri Digital Innovation Hub. the hub activities will include local farmers via their organization, financial institutions, research institutions, and the state’s agric-tech startup ecosystem.

A few startups have already joined the hub, they include, Farmcrowdy, Hello Tractor, Satsure and Ecotutu. It is expected that other organizations will join the initiative as time goes by.

The state plans for the hub to succeed to the point of emission and expansion to other states in the nation and possibly other African nations.
