Egyptian Government To Launch Digital Platfom For National Transformation
Following previous developments that have displayed a determined effort to support digital transformation in Egypt, the North African country’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly has again attested to an initiative that is meant to scale digital industrialization in the country.
Prime Minister Mostafa was recently present at the signing event between the Ministry of E-finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. His presence supported the plan by both ministries to develop a platform which should be of great benefit to industrial investors.
According to reports, the ministry intends to go into partnership with various organizations and agencies in other to achieve its plan and also to provide the necessary services required to create the platform and to process different services on the platform.
This initiative is anticipated to encourage local and international investment in the nation’s digitalization and manufacturing sector. The government had recently launched a unified operating permit for manufacturers in the nation which it called the “Golden License”.
This is not Egypt’s first move to support digitalization in the nation, there have been various activities going by the nation lately that expressed its willingness to get transformed, i.e, its signed agreement to launch an integrated system for cloud computing applications.
Earlier this year, the Egyptian government established Venture Capital (VC) program backed up with $50,000 to support tech startups within the nation. The initiative was meant to assist young innovators to launch tech-supported applications and projects that will secure the needs of its citizens.
The government’s activities are in line with its digital agenda. According to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, it “has embarked on building Digital Egypt. Digital Egypt is an all-encompassing vision and plan, laying the foundations for the transformation of Egypt into a digital society. To usher this transition to a digital society and build a strong digital economy, “Digital Egypt” is built on a number of significant planks” this task is meant to be achieved by 2030.
