Egyptian Healthtech Startup Estshara Secures $500k In Seed Funding Round

Cairo-based Healthtech startup Estshara has raised $500k funding from Egypt Ventures in a Seed fundraising round.

Estshara is an e-health platform founded in 2018 by the duo of Amin El-Hemaily and Ahmed Mahmoud. The startup provides online health consultations and telepharmacy services. The pandemic and post-pandemic era have necessitated the expansion of Estshara’s services as the demand and preference for remote digital solutions have grown in the region. Estshara currently serves two million customers and has completed over 200,000 consultations.

Founder and CEO of Estshara, Dr. Amin Elhemaily speaking on the funding said that the investment will help the startup scale and achieve its goal.

“The investment will help us scale our organization with exceptional talent and enhanced resources, as well as further increase our marketing and sales outreach to support our focused go-to-market strategy and achieve our expansion goals,” Dr. Amin said.

Egypt Ventures Chairman & CEO, Ahmed Gomaa also added that Estshara is a promising Healthtech startup and will expand its service by the end of the year.

“We are excited to see this promising health tech player, Estshara, contributing to digital transformation and financial inclusion in the Egyptian market. By the end of 2021, Estshara will additionally be providing consultations from specialty doctors including pediatricians, dermatologists” said Gomaa.

Estshara intends to use the funding to grow its existing user base from two million to six million, as well as extend its offers and customer care activities.
