A US- and UK-based AI infrastructure startup, Expanse, has raised €4.5 million in seed funding to expand its predictive AI infrastructure platform.
The round was led by Crane Venture Partners, with participation from PXN Ventures, AIP Seed and angel investors, including former DeepMind researchers.
Expanse develops software that predicts the computing resources an AI workload will need before it runs. Its technology helps organizations reduce wasted GPU capacity, prevent failed jobs, and improve the efficiency of existing infrastructure.
Expanse says its models operate within customers’ cloud or on-premises environments, meaning code and telemetry do not leave their infrastructure. In one production deployment, the company identified nearly €6.9 million in idle computing capacity in a single month.
