Juan Seco Becomes Jumia Kenya CEO Replaces Betty Mwangi
Juan Seco becomes Jumia Kenya’s new Chief Operating Officer (CEO) as the popular e-commerce platform makes yet another change in its leadership staff.
Juan succeeds Betty Mwangi, who was Jumia’s CEO from December 2021, till yesterday, making it just eight (8) months she served the Jumia organization.
According to Jumia’s statement, Betty is said to be pursuing other interests and will not be able to do so while holding the position.
However, Juan Seco has been with Jumia for seven (7) years, holding various positions. Joining Jumia Kenya in 2015, Juan was the CFO on arrival.

Mr. Seco was promoted to JumiaPay’s COO after two years with the company, where he served for three (3) years and became Senior Vice President JumiaPay.
Before Jumia, Seco was with Dexia, and a few auditing firms, such as KPMG and PwC.
He has a portfolio of experience and has run for the past two (2) decades
Seco is an alumnus of McGill University, where he studied a course in Commerce.
Both parties involved have not yet announced Betty Mwangi’s new position.
