Jumia Nigeria launches Quick E-commerce Platform To Deliver Orders Within 20 minutes in Lagos
Jumia, one of Africa’s leading e-commerce platforms has announced the launching of its quick commerce outlet named Jumia Food Mart. This platform is established to satisfy the demands of its customers that have so far increased.Through Jumia Food Mart, customers can now receive their grocery orders in a swift time of twenty minutes, thereby providing convenience for customer use.It should be recalled that Jumia had recently partnered with Nigeria’s last-mile logistics company, Errands360, to go an extra length to make swift delivery a reality.Asides from Errand360, Jumia is will partner with other micro-fulfilment centres within its reach and location of operation to serve its customers better and faster.As part of this new feature, this e-commerce customers can now benefit from its free-delivery package. This package is available on over items, which includes local and international brands. The free delivery package is available in specific locations in Lagos, which include Alausa, Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, and Victoria Island.According to reports, Massimiliano Spalazzi, Jumia Nigeria CEO. gave insight into the development. “We’re excited to bring quick commerce to Nigeria and continue to deliver an amazing experience to our consumers. Consumer behaviour and lifestyles are changing with speed and convenience becoming more important than ever. It’s a great achievement for our logistics team who resolved many challenges to make it happen. We believe that Jumia’s quick commerce offering meets our consumers’ demand for the convenient, fast delivery of everyday products, especially in this post-COVID era. Our micro fulfilment centres within neighbourhoods will enable us to deliver to consumers in rapid time,”Zachary Dyce, Jumia’s Head Of Dark Store, made it known that Jumia is the first e-commerce platform to come up with this initiative in the Urban location.“With a young population and emerging middle class, Nigeria’s consumers are eager to have access to the quick commerce revolution they see across the world. Due to the pandemic, Jumia had experienced a sudden shift from alternative product sales to everyday products. this is as its customers’ preferences changed. This change made Jumia work constantly on improving its delivery services.
In its reports titled “Jumia Africa E-Commerce Index 2021”, the e-commerce platform mentioned the popular and best-selling groceries and products on its platform during Covid-19. of which made it a fast-growing e-commerce platform.
