Kenya Ushers in a New Era of Digital Sovereignty with Africa’s First Locally Hosted AI and Cloud Platform
The launch of Servernah Cloud establishes Kenya as a leader in Africa’s digital sovereignty movement. By providing a locally hosted AI and cloud platform, the initiative strengthens compliance, reduces latency, and empowers enterprises, governments, and innovators to build Africa’s digital future on African soil.

Atlancis Technologies Limited, Everse Technology Limited (EverseTech), and iXAfrica Data Centres Limited announced the launch of Servernah Cloud in Nairobi. This is the first of its-kind in Kenya which will connect sovereign cloud services, EverseTech’s AI-as-a-Service capabilities, and iXAfrica’s hyperscale, carrier-neutral, AI-ready data centre infrastructure. Altogether, they work together to produce a locally hosted, sovereign cloud and AI platform that is created for Africa’s unique regulatory and operational needs.

The event, which was held at iXAfrica's 22.5 MW facility on Mombasa Road in Nairobi, brought together regional tech executives and highlighted Kenya's emerging role as an East African hub for independent cloud and AI compute.

Servernah Cloud symbolizes an emerging aspect of digital sovereignty for Africa, the platform will enable businesses to maintain control over their systems and AI workloads within Kenyan borders which functions differently from sending sensitive data offshore.

According to Snehar Shah, CEO of iXAfrica Data Centres, highlighted that;

This project is “a defining moment in Africa’s AI infrastructure story,”indicating a move towards locally provided compute and storage systems that uphold data governance and security regulations while supporting innovation.

Atlancis Technologies Limited (Atlancis), Everse Technology Limited (EverseTech), and iXAfrica Information Technology Facilities Limited (iXAfrica) collaborated to drive the launch, integrating cloud infrastructure, AI-as-a-service capabilities, and high-end, carrier-neutral data center capacity.

By utilizing local hardware designed to handle high-end computing, the platform enables enterprises and public institutions to manage data workloads, deploy AI models, and create cloud-native apps without depending on outside suppliers.
