LifeQ collaborates with B-Secur to develop Electrocardiogram technology solution.
Biotech startup LifeQ has collaborated with B-Secur to develop an advanced, integrated Electrocardiogram (ECG) and optical (PPG) based technology solution.
According to an announcement from the company, B-Secur’s Electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) technology will be integrated into LifeQ’s optical PPG (photoplethysmography) technology to enable advanced identification, wellness and health monitoring features in the next generation of everyday devices.
LifeQ revealed that its PPG signal conditioning technologies are used by leading technology companies to boost accuracy for use in business and clinical applications.
CEO of LifeQ, Laurie Olivier said, “With technology advancement and the increasing quest to improve health and wellbeing, whether to consumers, employees, employers, and even governments, the global biosensing market has grown exponentially in recent years.”

The collaboration is expected to speed up the integration, launch, and adoption of high-performance biosensing solutions for safe health and wellness features in smartwatches and other fitness trackers.
LifeQ was founded in 2014 in South Africa while B-Secur was founded in 2014 in Belfast, United Kingdom.
