MTN Group Appoints Christian Bombrun New Digital Platforms Chief
According to MTN Group, Christian Bombrun will begin serving as CEO of its Digital Platforms on 1 September 2022. Minnie Harris, who has been playing the part since April 2022, will now be replaced by the incoming CEO. The operator stated that Harris, who has been wearing two hats for the previous four months, will now concentrate only on her duties as chief financial officer (CFO): Digital Platforms.
According to the statement released by the company, it said Bombrun’s duties will include developing, carrying out, and managing MTN’s Digital Platforms’ long-term growth and commercial strategy.
Christian offers 25 years of expertise to MTN and is a seasoned professional in the fields of entertainment, digital, and technologies after joining from the Emmanuel Macron presidential campaign in France, where he was the head of Communication and Digital.
“Christian is a seasoned professional in the areas of entertainment, digital and technologies, and brings 25 years of experience to MTN.
“At Orange, his responsibilities included product design for the consumer market, as well as managing the pay TV and Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD), music games, ioT and financial services, OCS the Orange pay TV company, and the Orange movie studio,” said MTN.
Christian Bombrun previously worked for Orange for eight years, both corporately and in France, where he served in the capacities of group director of Orange Content and director of goods and services for the French market (2020-2021).
He holds a Master’s degrees in management science from IMT Business and television, telecoms, and internet from Dauphine University.
