NALA Opens Headquarters in Nairobi, Partners with Equity Bank

NALA, a Tanzanian fintech with a developed system to process payments has opened its Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, and likewise partnered with Kenya’s Equity Bank.

This will be NALA’s first physical presence since inception as it had previously run a fully remote workforce, this time the headquarters will house about 30 percent of the organization’s workforce.

According to reports, Nicolai Eddy, the headquarters Chief Operation Officer, addressed journalists, giving details about the event.

In his view, “Establishing global headquarters in Nairobi puts NALA in the best position to succeed. Nairobi has become a global hotspot for entrepreneurship and innovation and provides us access to top-quality African talent. We hope to further fuel this ecosystem by providing jobs and facilitating more free-flowing capital to Kenya.”

Even as a higher percentage of NALA’s international workforce will perform remotely, activities such as customer support/service and partnerships will take place at its headquarters.

NALA X Equity

It is perceived as a double feat, acquiring its first physical station in Nairobi, and going into partnership with Equity bank, it seems NALA is intent to do something big in Kenya.

Releasing a statement with respect to the recent partnership, Equity bank explains that the partnership will enable Kenyans in diaspora (UK & US) money directly from their bank accounts via the NALA mobile application (app) straight to Equity bank Kenya bank accounts owned by Kenyans in the homeland.

Equity will offer integrated financial performances to its customers by taking advantage of NALA’s technology services and interface. This partnership has the ability to increase Equity remittance status by exposing its customers to swifter services through the increasing popularity of digital channels.

NALA X Equity will also let Kenyans abroad save and invest in their nation’s financial infrastructure.
