Nomba Unveils Cross-Border Payment Interface to Empower Nigerian Businesses in Global Trade
Nomba’s launch of a cross-border payment interface is a game-changer for Nigerian businesses, offering instant FX conversion, stablecoin support, and simplified compliance.

A Nigerian fintech company, Nomba has introduced a new cross-border payment interface that is constructed to simplify international transactions for both individuals and businesses.

This launch signifies a prominent step in fixing long standing issues and challenges around foreign exchange, compliance, and settlement delays that may have caused a hindrance to Nigeria’s participation in global commerce.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Nomba, Yinka Adewale highlighted that;

The platform is designed to get rid of what the company refers to as the "dual liquidity trap," in which companies need to have money in both local and foreign currencies in order to finish transactions.

This company believes that the interface is designed to enable transactions across important international corridors such as the UK, Europe, Canada, and portions of Africa, permitting companies to easily settle in foreign currencies and accept payments in naira or stablecoins. It is anticipated that this invention will greatly lessen the operational burden that has always been connected to cross-border payments.

With Nigeria's fintech industry processing billions of dollars a year and cross-border trade growing, Nomba's new interface puts the company in a position to help businesses across the continent make international payments more quickly, affordably, and easily.

Beyond the first five markets, Nomba plans to expand the scope of its Global Payout API, possibly incorporating additional African and international corridors. Nigeria's participation in international trade and digital commerce might be significantly enhanced by this growth, which would also enable SMEs to compete globally.

About Nomba

In 2017, Nomba was founded as Kudi, a chatbot designed to make social app purchases easier. It developed into a more extensive payment platform with bank partnerships, point-of-sale (POS) technology, and other financial capabilities over time.

The business changed its name to Nomba in April 2022 to better represent its development as a single financial platform. By making it less difficult for companies to receive, handle, and process payments, it hopes to encourage digital commerce throughout Nigeria and beyond and accelerate financial inclusion.
