Orange Egypt, one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators has announced the launch of an integrated digital platform that supports and guides promising, innovative, and creative ideas to encourage young talents in Egypt to go through the experience of establishing start-ups and gaining the knowledge needed to turn their ideas into real projects.

The telco is partnering with Victory Link along with a special collaboration with prominent entrepreneur, Mohamed Nagati; where the platform provides valuable content and tips based on practical experiences on how to establish successful start-ups, as well as providing tips by Nagati to help them gain the intellectual and personal skills that any successful investor may need to acquire.

Also, participants in the program stand a chance to secure seed funding amounting to EGP 250,000 to launch their ideas, as well as help them convert their ideas into real projects. Participants are expected to submit their presentations to the platform, where a jury led by Nagati will screen and sort out the good ideas and choose one of them to obtain the funding.

Ahmed Al-Abd CCO at Orange Egypt said in a statement, “We are pleased to launch the new platform, which is a strong addition to the initiatives launched by Orange out of its keenness to support Egyptian talents in the field of trade, investment, and technology, and support them to transform into entrepreneurs while transforming their ideas to best benefit the society and the Egyptian economy as a whole.”

“Over the past years, Orange Egypt has launched several initiatives that specifically aimed to support Egypt’s ecosystem and has presented a series of training events and competitions on local and regional levels; where some of them included venture funding and prizes, and the latest one was the 2022 Fintech Start-up Seed Challenge, in which a promising start-up won a seed fund of $200,000,” he added.

Commenting on the initiative, the Chairperson of Victory Link, Nasser Mahrous said, “Victory Link gives great attention to supporting the Egyptian community in various fields, especially in fintech. The cooperation with Orange to launch the new digital platform comes within the framework of Egypt’s 2030 Vision for sustainable development in supporting entrepreneurship to help young people set up their projects.”

Mohamed Nagati on his part expressed optimism about the project and also hinted at expanding the score to cover entrepreneurs across the continent. “The idea of partnering with a giant telecom operator like Orange, along with the contribution of Victory Link, as a key driver in launching an integrated digital platform that supports youths was a dream; through which we will be able to reach the largest possible number of young aspiring entrepreneurs and small- and medium-sized enterprises that want to start their projects.”

“I also dream of reaching all African countries, and we are working with Orange and Victory Link to reach out to all the young entrepreneurs in our continent to help build their dreams and achieve their goals through the advice and instructions that will be provided through this service, which will be of great value in their journey and will also help in improving the economy in the long-run,” he concluded.
