Points Africa Aims to Unite Loyalty Programs Across Sub-Saharan Africa with $2million funding.
Ghana based fintech startup, Points Africa has closed a $2million funding round led by VestedWorld. For a company launched in December 2025, this is seen as an early stage venture capital focusing on emerging markets, as it aims to build the first coalition loyalty network in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Here is a fintech which is created to ensure customers earn and redeem loyalty points by tackling long-standing challenges in customer reward programs across multiple sectors. Points Africa hopes to change the course of spending for consumers where for instance, a customer spends across foodstuffs stores, TV subscription and fuel stations, and other partner categories allowing them to flow through a unified single wallet. Hence customers can enjoy rewards that are accumulated and redeem them whenever they want within the network.
Points Africa led by Andrew McBarnett and Don Cochrane, ensures facilitating an effortless tracking of transactions and assures common loyalty currency for its partners. Not only for individual customers but also businesses can enjoy lightweight, payment-based verification and also integrate reliable APIs.
In addition to their services, Points Africa adopted the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data analysis to help provide deeper insights rather than simple tracking. This assures that points are automatically added to the user’s unified digital wallet at any point they make purchases from any partner brand.
Its technology is built to help different business sectors retain their customers by predicting turnover risk and activating specific rewards in real time. These enterprises also benefit from cross-sector spending insights, enabling more targeted and data-driven engagement strategies.
This $2million fund will firstly be used to strengthen the operations in Ghana, ensuring a great development ,with the aim of expanding into important African markets over the course of the next 18 months, beginning with Nigeria and moving on to Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya.
