Project Ventures has launched a €5.8 million fund to invest in early-stage DeepTech and AI startups emerging from the Imperial College London ecosystem.
The new fund will back pre-Seed and Seed-stage companies with investments ranging from €116,000 to €349,000, targeting startups working across AI, robotics, healthcare, energy, climate and advanced manufacturing. It has invested in three companies: Tewke, NexusAM and Neubond.
More than 80% of the fund’s limited partners are Imperial alumni, reinforcing its focus on startups connected to the university’s research and founder network.
Project Ventures plans to close the fund by summer 2027.
For Black and Brown founders, the fund creates another source of early-stage capital for DeepTech and AI businesses. However, the model means founders with access to the university’s research, networks and technical ecosystem are positioned to tap the new capital pool directly, influencing the role of institutional connections in accessing specialist venture funding.
