SAP Partners Coursera to Empower African Developers Through SAP Build

At the SAP TechEd conference, SAP announced the debut of a new solution to propel the next wave of business transformation by using the knowledge of business users, who are the experts. SAP Build, a low-code solution that draws on the distinctive depth and breadth of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), gives business users immediate, secure access to the end-to-end processes, data, and context they need to make better decisions and spur creativity quickly.

The SAP Build, according to the company, enables business users with little technical knowledge to develop and enhance enterprise applications, automate business procedures, and easily design business websites.

Juergen Mueller, a member of SAP’s Executive Board and its Chief Technology Officer, remarked that SAP Build puts together the world’s most powerful business applications with a platform that has been built to rapidly unleash business users’ expertise.

“In a volatile business landscape, SAP Build and the full suite of innovations we’re launching today – from our new partnership with Coursera to enhancements across our enterprise portfolio – help customers’ future-proof their business and extract maximum value from their technology investments.”

Business users can access the full capability of SAP BTP and SAP business application data using SAP Build. Without putting their data into an external system, users can simply link systems, intelligently monitor, analyze, and automate processes, and construct applications for the final mile of innovation.

Users of SAP Build benefit from comprehensive visibility into all of their processes thanks to the native integration of SAP Signavio solutions. This allows them to focus their innovation and automation efforts where they will have the biggest impact. Users can immediately access the full range of business experience built into SAP’s technology thanks to more than 275,000 process reference points from 4,000 customers and 1,300 use-case specific workflows and automations. Non-SAP systems can also be used with SAP Build. The new SAP Builders program helps users ramp up quickly and connect with their peers via hands-on sessions and forums for sharing best practices.

“Given that the demand for contemporary digital solutions is greater than the ability of professional developers to supply them, IDC envisions that business professionals will become increasingly involved in initiatives to create digital solutions to solve pressing business problems,” said Arnal Dayaratna, Research Vice President, Software Development, IDC. “Worldwide, IDC expects more than 100 million business professionals will become involved in the production of digital solutions over the next ten years. SAP Build’s low-code development solutions empower business users to harness their domain expertise to rapidly build and iterate on digital solutions at scale.”

Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO of Coursera Inc expressed excitement on the new product stating that it was not necessary to have a college degree or work experience to acquire the certificate.
