Saudi Edtech Jeel Secures Seven-Figure Seed Funding to Revolutionize Edutainment for Arab Youth
Jeelin , a trailblazer purposeful edutainment digital content for children, adolescents, parents, and educators in the MENA region, has announced the successful close of a seven-figure dollar seed funding round from Razm Investments alongside a consortium of angel investors.
The startup will leverage this investment to boost its presence in the B2B (Business-to-Business) and B2G (Business-to-Government) sectors, while also facilitating its expansion into new languages and markets. The funding will also enable Jeel to enhance its offerings, ensuring that high-quality, culturally-aligned content reaches a broader audience.
Ahmed Sobeih, the visionary founder and CEO of Jeel, expressed his enthusiasm about the investment: “This massive funding reflects great confidence in our vision and our ability to innovate in the purposeful digital entertainment and educational content industries. It also underscores our commitment to enriching the Arabic language.”
He further added, “We are excited to expand our markets in the B2B and B2G sectors and to provide our innovative services in the Saudi market in particular and the Gulf markets in general.”
Founded in 2020 by Ahmed Sobeih, Jeel has been dedicated to delivering engaging and meaningful content for children and adolescents aged 3 to 15 years old. With over 1,000 exclusive cartoon characters, its content is meticulously reviewed by educational experts to ensure it aligns with Arab culture and values. Plans are underway to translate this content into other languages, broadening its impact and accessibility.
Jeel’s mission is to foster the development of young minds, enrich their experiences, and strengthen the Arabic language while instilling sound values.
Abdullah AlKasabi, CEO of Razm, and Othman AlKasabi both expressed their excitement about this partnership. They emphasized their commitment to supporting educational and entertainment initiatives through Jeel’s diverse products in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
The new funding will accelerate Jeel’s efforts on several fronts. The company plans to enhance its app with advanced features, offering a distinctive user experience. Additionally, Jeel will introduce new languages to attract a wider user base of children, adolescents, parents, and educators.
Jeel is also gearing up to launch a comprehensive e-commerce platform, designed to complement its app and streamline the purchase of related products and services. The company is poised to intensify its presence in the Saudi and Gulf markets, which rank among the largest digital content markets in the region.
It’s noteworthy that Jeel previously secured investment funding from EdVentures, one of the Middle East’s largest venture investment companies in educational projects. This new funding round represents a significant step forward in its mission to revolutionize edutainment for Arab youth. With its sights set on expanding its impact, Jeel is poised to transform the educational and entertainment experiences of children and adolescents across the Arab world and beyond.
