WaveX Becomes First Reseller Across LINX Nairobi and Mombasa, Strengthening Kenya’s Internet Connectivity
By bridging two critical IXPs, WaveX is helping to strengthen East Africa’s digital ecosystem, improve connectivity for businesses and consumers, and position Kenya as a regional leader in internet innovation.

WaveX has been recognised to be the first company seen as a reseller across both the London Internet Exchange (LINX) Nairobi and LINX Mombasa Internet Exchanges which marks a prominent milestone as internet exchange points (IXPs) in Kenya’s digital connectivity landscape. This achievement is quite a big one as it exhibits WaveX’s role in expanding the internet across East Africa.

This new partnership will give WaveX resellers access to both exchange locations without the need of a physical presence at the site to link up and exchange internet traffic. This contract increases connectivity efficiency in the area while facilitating access to LINX's peering services for companies, content networks, and internet service providers.

Given that they allow networks to exchange traffic locally rather than going through far-off international hubs, internet exchange points are essential to the digital ecosystem. This service will serve as a strategic hub for East Africa, connecting Kenya with neighboring countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

IXPs cut delays, increase network speed, and save service providers' operating expenses by enabling local traffic exchange. As digital services spread throughout Africa, there is a rising need for more reliable interconnection infrastructure, which is demonstrated in LINX's expanding presence in Kenya. The move supports Kenya’s ambition to become a leading digital economy in Africa, enhancing internet resilience and accessibility.
