What Africans Can Expect from Crypto Fest 2022 in Cape Town

The popular Crypto Fest will return for its fourth iteration on September 30, 2022, and for the first time as a hybrid event that will take place both physically in Cape Town, South Africa, and online (via live-stream).

The SA Innovation Summit— the largest startup event in Africa, which will be held in Cape Town over three days from September 27–29, 2022, will collaborate with the Crypto Fest to create a Week of Innovation.

The theme of this year’s Crypto Fest is a parody from a satirical comedy film “Don’t Look Up,” which depicts how humans are unable to adequately address climate change. It depicts a comet as a potential menace to the planet earth. The crypto-DeFi-NFT-Web3 sphere is also undergoing transformation, thus it is important to “Look Up” and recognize the changes as well as the opportunities.

The Crypto Fest will provide a one-of-a-kind experience on how these technologies and communities are reshaping the world of banking, investing, art, music, sport, gaming, entertainment, marketing, government, and more. It will also stimulate difficult conversations and important debates.

In a statement, the organizers of the event acknowledged that Cape Town had a lot to offer. As one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town boosts of spectacular beaches, expansive wine-lands, nature preserves, botanical gardens, and a bustling waterfront.
