Xbox launches Family Settings App to manage underage Gaming.
Xbox has announced the Xbox family settings app that would help families manage their children’s gaming.
The family settings app came as a preview and makes available a simple and easiest way a child’s account can be created and customized to fit the desired needs of the family.
This is to encourage parents and guardians to manage their children’s activities on their gaming on Xbox consoles through their mobile devices such as allowing for more time on the weekends and reducing the time during the school week.
In their statement, Xbox revealed, “Safety is a huge priority at Xbox, and we’ve worked for years to offer families tools to find the right balance of gaming in their lives and to fit their unique needs.
The Xbox family setting has over 20 features that can be customized by parents to manage their children’s time, filters, and communication on the gaming app.
The preview is available on Android and IOS and provides parents and caregivers a free choice to managing their children’s gaming
The unique feature about the app that parents would love is the screen time limits.
In this feature, parents can respond to every notification from their children in their gaming requests in order to gain approvals or disapprovals in what is needed in their gaming.
The Play and communication settings also block all access to play and communicate with other players, limit access to “friends only” or grant permission for older children to play and chat with “everyone”
There are also activity reports in order to view daily and weekly activity reports for each child to understand how they are spending their time on Xbox.
According to Xbox, “based on their customer feedback, on the feature, they may include similar functionality for other games in the future.
