Y Combinator hosts Demo Day online
Seed accelerator company, Y Combinator sets to host Demo Day online on March 16, 2020.
This action taken by YC follows the widespread of Corona Virus alias Covid 19 in many countries.
A report by the YC stated, “We believe this is the right thing to do for the safety of all attendees, including our team, founders, investors, and the media”.
Presentations will be pre-recorded and released to all investors at the same time on March 16 on YC Demo Day website.
Also, the provision of additional written background information on each company and access to their decks.
Furthermore, the YC software will make it easy for investors and founders to exchange contact information so that they can arrange one-on-one meetings.
“While we won’t be able to recreate every aspect of Demo Day, we’ll try our best to create an amazing experience for our founders and investors,” said a report from YC.
All of this will happen on the same YC Demo Day website that investors and founders have used over the past five years.
This year marks the 30th edition of the Demo Day program.
Even though this year’s Demo Day would be held online YC is hoping that it would be great.
“15 years, startup investors have supported every new batch of YC companies, and we know the same will be true for this batch”.
Demo Day is when Start-ups pitch their business in front of an investor when they graduate. In other terms, startups raise external funding from external investors while they graduate from an Incubator/Accelerator.
Y Combinator is an American seed accelerator launched in March 2005 and has been used to launch over 2,000 companies including Stripe, Airbnb, Cruise Automation, DoorDash, Coinbase, Instacart, and Dropbox.
Y Combinator is a startup accelerator that invests in a large number of startups twice a year. In 2005, Y Combinator developed a new mode lof startup funding.
