Andela Opens Application For EPIC Tournament $10,000 At Stake
A multinational marketplace for technical remote workers, Andela, has opened entry for its upcoming hackathon dubbed the EPIC Tournament which is in collaboration with HackerEarth.
According to reports, the tournaments will see the participation of notable developers who will be grouped into teams to develop prototype solutions that should generate a positive impact on the expanding nature of the global remote workforce.
Those intending to participate can come from any location in the world but they must pick a country in one of the four regions (America, Europe, Middle East Africa, or Asia-Pacific) to represent. Andela is intent on assisting organizations to build a remote team of engineers, coders are expected to design and hack products while creating solutions for anticipated work problems in the future.
The tournament will consist of two rounds, individuals or teams. The first round will have them involved in the “EPIC Coding Challenge”, where assessments will be based on their coding abilities. It shall be a 3-hour challenge as participants will have to code their way to the top of the leaderboard.
The shortlisted 16 teams (four terms from each region) will be given exclusive access to the EPIC Remote Worker Hackathon which commences on the 28th of November 2022. They will have ten days to work on their hack preparing to present to the panel of judges their solution. Each work will be judged on the bases of the product-building and problem-solving skills used to develop it, likewise inculcated Epic Values.
Participants are expected to be
- Excellent in their various stacks
- Passionate about their idea/solution which they will be presented
- To show Integrity and honesty when showcasing the solutions they will be providing
- And to Collaborate to win against the other teams in the competition
The team that produces the three strongest solutions, with features such as Creativity, Scalability, Feasibility and impact included will be chosen as winners, going home with a cash prize of $10,000 and spoils from Andela and her partners.

Over the years, the consistent adoption of remote work has undoubtedly increased. According to a study by Owl lab, about 56% of multinational companies adopt remote work, while about 16% of multinational organizations are fully remote. the competition will generate solutions that can run a future for global remote work.

Applications opened now will be closed on the 26th of November 2022. The evaluation of the shortlisted teams will be streamed live at the finale and award event on the 13th of December year 2022.
