ICT Ministry Rwanda, CcHub Partner To Select 6 Startups for Fintech Incubation Programme
Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) in collaboration with The Ministry of ICT and Innovation in Rwanda, Google, and Mojaloop Foundation has revealed that six startups have been selected for the Fintech Incubation Programme second cohort.
The Fintech Incubation Programme is a three months long programme, designed to assist early-stage tech-enabled startups in developing solutions that are directed at promoting financial inclusion. During the first cohort, the event saw nine startups selected and initiated with a demo in the month of July 2022.
After a rigorous review procedure, Six startups were eventually picked to join the programme’s second cohort. The selected startups are,
- Expensa: An expense management platform.
- Gwiza: A savings and investment tool
- Hepta Pay: A mobile money/payment service
- Kayko: A business management tool
- SchoolNest Pay: A school payment platform
- Smart Ikigega: A farmer’s financial assistant service.
Within the next three months, CcHub will be assisting these startups, now teams for the programme, to attain product stability likewise market preparedness, scalability, as well as investment. Each team will be able to maximize the industry’s mentorship and that of its domain experts. they will also leverage on Google and Mojaloop products. Concluding in Dember, the second cohort will also have a demo day, where each team will present and pitch to investors.
As part of the Fintech Innovation Programme, the Fintech Incubation Programme is just one of the various developmental programmes developed to scale Rwanda’s digital evolution, so as to propel inclusive economic growth via developing its technology, and nurturing a Pan African innovation ecosystem.
