Mdundo Surpasses Projected Streaming Target For Year 2022

Kenya-based music streaming platform, Mdundo, has announced that it has surpassed its targeted listenership for the year 2022. This it made none when it disclosed that it now has 20.3 million active users monthly as of June 2022.

Mdundo had a target of between 19 to 20 million users for the year 2022, but it has currently surpassed it. There are expectations that the listenership will increase before the end of the year.

This achievement makes a 74 per cent jump from its feat last year, now the brand plans to double its target for next year, increasing the numbers to 25million  MAU.

Listed on the Danish Exchange,  Mdundo has also announced that its Nigerian listeners have not only surpassed that of its Kenyan listener but also that of South African and Tanzania users. Scooping about 2.8 million from Kenya, 3.7 from South Africa and 2.4 from Tanzania, Nigeria 5million users on the platform.

Founded in the year 2012, by Martin Nielsen, Francis Amisi, Jura Sidorenko and Kresten, Mdundo is steadily increasing in its numbers. “We have increased the average brand up-lift for our advertising clients by an average of 8%, with the most noticeable impact towards the end of the customer decision-making process impacting consideration, favorability, and purchase intent by an average of 10%. It is extremely satisfying to know that the return on investment for our clients is directly related to our campaigns driving impact in addition to incremental reach across all key markets” this is according to Rachel Karanu, Head of Brand Partnerships, Mdundo.

Altogether in Ethiopia, Uganda, Congo, Ghana, Zambia, Sudan, Kinshasa, Rwanda, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, and Malawi, Mdundo has gathered over One hundred thousand MAU.

In the year 2020, Mdundo raised more than Seven Hundred Million Kenyan Shillings, and in the same year, it began trading.
