Morocco’s digital ticketing platform, Guichet.com, has secured 3 million MAD (about $306,348) to accelerate growth, begin new investments, and expand into other African markets.

The equity investment was funded by CDG Invest, the investment arm of the CDG Group, under the 212 Founders’ program.

Guichet.com is an online ticketing offering website that lets individuals buy tickets for events. Ranging from concerts to cinema, sports, shows, festivals, films, travel, and getaways, the platform offers tickets in Morocco in collaboration with event organizers.

Founded in 2019 by Moulnakhla Ahmed Tawfik, Guichet has become a leading company in tickets distribution and delivery. And in turn, reducing extra incurred costs of printing tickets. The website has become a go-to platform for Moroccans, following the Covid-19 pandemic. With over 12 million users, Guichet.com has held over 1,000 events and shows, including well-known sports teams.

212 Founders is an early-stage support program for startups in the country, aimed at stimulating creative innovation and growth for Moroccan startups. The program offers seed investments and investment over their first round of fundraising. The 212 Founders program has since supported 11 Seed and Series A financings and has invested 54 million MAD ($5.5 million) in the Moroccan startup ecosystem.

CEO and Founder of Guichet.com Moulnakhla Ahmed Tawfik expressed gratitude for the 212 Founders team for being part of the program. With the current funding, the platform would improve its position, and set strategic goals for the acquisition of other promising African markets. It would also begin with a stronger offer for sports athletes.

The CDG Invest partnered with Morocco’s central bank, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) in a new deal with aims to boos Morocco’s Fintech startup scene. Both parties pledged to support startups through direct funding and providing needed technicalities through the 212 Founders program. BAM commits to offering fintech guidance and financial support as part of the CDG Invest program. BAM has equally committed to mediating between fintech startups and banks, supporting startups in securing growth-dependent funds.

Youssef Mamou, Director of CDG Invest’s 212 Founders Program, expressed his delight at becoming part of Guichet.com’s growth and expansion plans. Guichet has displayed tenacity and innovation in assuring the continuity of its operations. He further stated that the purpose of this funding is to help Guichet.com realize its goals in Africa and consolidate its leadership position in the Moroccan market.
