NTSA Gives 14 days Ultimatum for Taxi hailing transportation Licence

A Fourteen (14) days ultimatum has been given by the Kenyan National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to all digital taxi-hailing firms operating in the country to apply for the provided licence as Transport Network Companies.

Recently there was a publication by the authority that publicized the Transportation Network Companies (TNC), drivers and passengers rules of 2022.

There was also a sensitization workshop held by the Ministry of Transportation, in partnership with Public Works, for relevant stakeholders to promote its operationalization.

According to the notification from Francis Meja, NTSA Director General, Transportation Network Companies, and The Transport Network Companies Licence Application Form, the Rules for Drivers and Passengers for 2022 are obtainable via download on the NTSA website: www.ntsa.go.ke.

The digital taxi-hailing firms operating in the country have been advised to do the necessary before the end of the ultimatum.

The condition required for application form approval is provided agreement between applying digital hailing firm driver and car owner.

The Authority’s Head Office Registry, 316 Upper Hill Chambers, 9th Floor, Second Ngong Avenue, is the venue for application collection.
