OPay is considering a listing on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), which could give Nigerian investors direct access to one of the country’s biggest fintech companies.

The move comes as the SoftBank-backed payments company prepares a potential public offering that could value it at about $4 billion. OPay has reportedly been working with Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan on the planned IPO, which was initially expected to target the US market.

OPay has yet to formally confirm the NGX plans.

OPay’s Nigerian business remains its core market. The company processed $358 billion in gross transaction value in 2025, more than double the previous year, while Nigeria accounted for 88.1% of its revenue.

A Nigerian listing would mark a significant milestone for the country’s capital market, giving local investors unlimited access to high-growth technology companies and creating a new avenue for participating directly in the sector’s expansion.
