Talabat, MENA’s leading food ordering and delivery startup owned by Delivery Hero, has announced a partnership with Spinneys, a multinational supermarket chain, to bring thousands of daily grocery and household items closer to their customers.
“At Talabat, we work continuously to enhance our product categories and better meet our customers’ everyday needs,” said Nevine El-Far, Head of Non-Food Category at Talabat Egypt, while announcing the partnership. Collaboration with a mega-chain like Spinneys is another step toward providing an incredible experience and leveraging technology to virtually connect customers with businesses.”
Talabat’s customers can now place an order from a wide selection of quality food and household goods from the fourteen Spinneys stores. However, customers in Sheikh Zayed, Al Haram, New Cairo, Maadi, Mokattam, Nasr City, Sherouk City, and Alexandria will receive their orders on October 6th.
“As an established retailer serving millions of Egyptians every day since 1924, we are excited to be joining the Talabat platform as we aim to bring Spinneys even closer to customers through diverse channels,” said Mahmoud El-Gaml, E-commerce Director at Spinneys. We are excited to provide the highest quality, service, and value to the platform’s multi-million customer base across the country.”
Talabat Egypt’s singular growth strategy has been strategic partnerships with local and international grocery stores, as well as flower and electronic shops, to better serve their customers in over twenty cities. This is in addition to a strong emphasis on affordability, to enable customers to continue receiving world-class service in light of the current global economic situation. It recently added Gourmet, BIM, and Beit El Gomla to allow customers to shop from a variety of offerings regardless of where they are.
Talabat was founded in 1999 by a group of entrepreneurs to make meal delivery convenient for everyone. Talabat delivers hundreds of millions of food orders, groceries, and other products to customers in nine countries across the region each year. It works with over 25,000 brands and nearly 50,000 branches, and Talabat Mart now delivers groceries in 30 minutes or less to customers in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE!
Delivery Hero purchased the company, which claims to be the largest food delivery and shopping platform in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), in 2015. Delivery Hero is one of the world’s most popular online meal ordering and delivery platforms.
