Gable Raises $16m to Expand Virtual Workplace Management in Africa

San Francisco-based Gable, which assists distributed businesses in managing office space for their workers, today announced a $16 million investment round. Employees can reserve a desk next to a coworker through Gable’s portal, and the business can manage budgets and track employee satisfaction. The funding is co-led by SemperVirens and Foundation Capital, with participation from Tishman Speyer Ventures, Ulu Ventures, and January Ventures.

Former Microsoft PMs and engineering executives Liza Mash Levin and Omri Haviv founded the business. In 2020, Gable was introduced just as COVID-19 started requiring businesses to move toward remote work and drastically alter how and where teams interacted.

Employees can use Gable to browse and reserve among thousands of available workplaces within a defined financial budget. Anyone on the team can use the personalized portal to ask others to join them anywhere and to view each other’s workspaces. Employers who use Gable have observed a 75% increase in employee interest in going into the office. These capabilities make it easier to schedule and organize events and reserve a desk in the business’s permanent premises.

The integration of Slack and HRIS tools into the unified management suite helps Human Operations save tens of hours each month. With more than 50 enterprises, including Wheel and Docker, and 5,000 users, Gable has experienced remarkable growth. Productivity, teamwork, and employee happiness have all increased by 4-5X, according to employees.

According to Liza Mash Levin, co-founder and CEO of Gable, “most employees want freedom, but they also want the ability to meet with coworkers and interact.”

“Companies find it hard to provide workspaces across locations, stay on top of budgets, and have insight into how the spaces are being utilized, that’s where Gable comes in,” said Mash.
