Kenya's Whitebox Partners With The Kijiji to Train Innovators and Entrepreneurs
Whitebox in collaboration with The Kijiji is set to enhance Kenyan youths by training local innovators and entrepreneurs through a two-month intensive boot camp.
Whitebox, established in 2018, is an initiative of the Kenyan government, under the Ministry of Information, communication, and Technology, ICT. Whitebox was set up to help develop the east African nation’s ICT-based ventures and personnel such as Innovators, techies, academics, and many others to international standards.
The Kijiji, on the other hand, was founded in 2017 by Victoria Nyakundi, Eric Kariuki, and Freyja Oddsdottir. it is a hub that provides a comfortable workspace for entrepreneurs, and remote workers, located in the heart of the nation’s capital Nairobi.
The need to centralize the acquisition of IT solutions likewise to assist the support the increasing number of Kenyan-based Tech startups and IT innovations birthed Whitebox, thus a partnership with Kijiji. This will help actualize the nation’s vision to gather young and vibrant individuals in a space to brainstorm and provide sustainable solutions to various IT challenges.
The Boot Camp
The Whitebox X The Kijiji boot camp, is said, to last for two months, and it is also designed to train early and mid-stage entrepreneurs and techies. this is set to be conducted twice per week.
A variety of skills and areas to be covered includes Funding, Grants, Innovation, Brand strategies, and many more. Participants will also have access to Whitebox partners, the likes of the Ministry of ICT, IhUB, Posta Kenya, and CA.
However, the training is only able to accommodate 350 members, which means there’s is a panel set up to scrutinize and pick the most qualified innovators and entrepreneurs.
