Egyptian Health-Tech Startup Sotech raises $1m Pre-Seed Funding Round
Egyptian Healthtech and IoT solutions startup Sotech, has announced it raised $1 million in a Pre-Seed funding.
The round was led by Innlife Investments, other prominent corporate investors including Al Raya Kuwaiti also participated in the round.
Sotech is an Egypt-based firm founded in 2020 during the pandemic by a group of Tech, Marketing, and Healthcare enthusiasts. Sotech specialize in both advertising and providing innovative health solutions to Egyptians.
By way of its platform, Sotech links the worlds of offline advertising and online campaigns to deliver completely integrated Tech & Hardware, as well as an integrated collection of software and tracking platforms.
Through Sotech’s app, clinics are able to understand the volume, flow, and demographics of their visits, and also allows advertisers track the performance of their in-clinic ads.
Hospitals and clinics can also better manage their patients and customers through Sotech’s management solution that engages visitors from the moment they walk in and follows them via several display touchpoints during their visit.
Omar El Metwally, co-founder and managing director of Sotech speaking on the funding said: “In Sotech we believe we can be one of the weapons that can fight the pandemic and serious diseases through our smart technology, and reinvent one of the most effective marketing channels, the OOH, by having the best analytical solutions detecting behavior and way more insights making it a great cooperative channel with the digital channels”.
Sotech claims it manages over 200 clinics in Cairo, as it is rapidly expanding with around 60 new clinics opening each month.
Sotech intends to use the fund to extend its operations to 500 locations and grow its market beyond Egypt, including Mecca and Madina.
