Egyptian Legaltech Startup, Hekouky, Secures Pre-seed Funding from Nama Ventures
Egyptian Legaltech platform that helps entrepreneurs and company owners form organizations and register trademarks Hekouky, has announced it raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-seed fundraising round led by Nama Ventures.
Hekouky was founded in 2020 by Hala Riad, Mayy Abdelbary, and Fatima Khalil with the aim of digitalizing users’ experiences while registering companies and trademarks.
Hekouky which offers legal assistance to those who want to communicate for legal advice was incubated by Mint by EgyBank and Cairo Angels in spring 2021 and was accelerated by Google for startups Accelerator 2021.
Hekouky solves this problem of sorting out legal transactions for business owners by providing a one-stop-shop and simple-to-use platform that streamlines the procedure.
“Our mission is to make entrepreneurs feel safe to follow their dreams, in Egypt and the Mena region. Entrepreneurship is a test of wills, one that we will make easier by taking the legal burden off your shoulders,” said Hala Riad, Hekouky co-founder.
In a statement by Mohammed Alzubi, Managing Partner at Nama Ventures, he stated that his firm believes in the team of founders at Hekouky as it is providing solutions in the legal space.
“We firmly believe that the reg-tech space in Mena is ripe for disruption. There are tremendous inefficacies in the legal space that technology can help bridge. What we saw in Hala, Mayy, and Fatima is a team that has a very good command on what it takes to build a great reg-tech startup,” said Alzubi.
Nama Ventures is a Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-based pre-seed venture capital fund focused on backing startups innovation in the MENA region.
