Leading Payments Company, Flutterwave appoints Emmanuel Efenure as Head of Risk for Africa
San-Francisco-headquartered pan-African leading payment technology, Flutterwave has appointed Emmanuel Efenure as Head of Risk for Africa; a new unit bore from the Flutterwave Compliance Team — to see to “faster development and implementation of Risk initiatives.”
The newly hired Efenure has significant years of experience in the banking sector having worked at the United Bank Africa (UBA) Plc; Standard Chartered Bank, Nigeria and Mastercard — guiding risk operations. He was formerly the AVP & Director, Risk and Compliance in sub-Saharan Africa for Mastercard where he worked from 2016 to 2022.
The appointment of Efenure comes after Flutterwave’s latest senior management hires, including Gurbhej Dhillon, former Goldman Sachs Managing Director, as CTO; Oneal Bhambani, former Vice President of American Express, as CFO; and Mansi Babyloni, former Senior Manager at EY and PwC, as CPO. This development by the company is in an attempt to launch an IPO I.e Initial Public Offering.
The fintech company founded in 2016 by Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and Olugbenga Agboola has been on the trail of employing material innovations to its platform. Just recently, it incorporated the use of Google Pay (GPay) as part of its wide-optioned payment choices.
In the statement released by the company, Efenure, bringing over 22 years of Banking and Risk management experience would be the primary point of contact for risk-related projects, processes and operations and as well lead management efforts for Flutterwave — in the changing risk landscape of Africa.
